The Exciting New Ford F-150 Lightning Truck at Vanderhyde Ford

For nearly 50 years, the Ford F-150 has been the leading pickup truck on the road. In 2022, Ford elevates this incredible truck with electrified power and impressive performance.

Trims and Performance

The new F-150 Lighting comes available in four trims-Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum-all available with a crew-cab body and a 5.5-foot cargo bed. The Pro, XLT, and Lariat configurations come standard with a 98-kWh battery, while a 131-kWh battery is an option for the XLT and Lariat and standard on the Platinum trim.

F-150 LIGHTNING PLATINUM

An F-150 Lightning truck equipped with a standard-range battery has a max payload of 2,235 pounds. The larger battery has a tow rating of up to 10,000 pounds when equipped with the Max Trailer Tow Package.

The 98-kWh battery pack and dual-motor configuration create 452 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque, higher than all other available F-150 trucks. You'll get a total range of up to 230 miles with a fully charged battery compared to a 320-mile range with the 131-kWh battery that kicks the output to 580 horsepower. Regardless of the battery, torque is the same at 775 pound-feet and has an impressive four-second acceleration from 0-60 off the line; an impressive response for a pickup truck.

Design

One of the best parts of this pure-electric truck is the extra storage space where the engine would normally go. Aside from the versatile 5.5-foot cargo bed that can haul thousands of pounds of supplies and equipment, the frunk (front trunk) can hold an additional 400-pounds.

The F-150 Lightning truck's design looks almost identical to the gas-powered version, featuring a sculpted hood, a front grille with a small opening for heat exchangers, and unique taillights.

Interior

The F-150 Lightning EV truck's interior emulates the standard F-150 cab styling, featuring more technology components like a massive 15.5inch touchscreen display. Other features include available a fold-out center console that also serves as a table and flat-collapsing front seats that offer plenty of space to stretch out or nap. There's a locking storage compartment under the rear seat and plenty of for tall passengers to sit comfortably.
