The Ford F-150 is powerful, athletic, and nicely appointed. For those of you interested in performance, we want to provide you with an overview of the engine options.

This truck, which we carry at Vanderhyde Ford in Cedar Springs, MI, can come with six different powertrains. The 3.3-liter V6 will give you 290 horsepower, and the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 will deliver 325 horsepower. Another EcoBoost V6 model has a displacement of 3.6 liters. This greater size allows it to generate 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. Even larger is the 5.0-liter V8. It's paired with a ten-speed transmission, and it comes with 400 horsepower.

Two other options to consider are a hybrid powertrain and a diesel engine. The hybrid F-150 trucks use electric motors and 3.5-liter PowerBoost V6 gas-powered engines. Together, these components give the truck 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. The last option is a 3.0-liter turbo diesel that has a towing capacity of over 12,000 pounds.
